This has to be every college student’s favorite time of year. As semester exams take their final turn, a festive season opens up in college corridors. Hustle and excitement make way for college fests as you bump into old friends, celebrities and music fanatics. While it’s in recent times that these trends have caught up, sports fests have always been the charm of colleges.
VJTI, a premier engineering institute, and one of the oldest engineering colleges in Asia, hosts Maharashtra’s biggest sports festival every year – “Enthusia”.
The students of VJTI participate in a highly competitive inter-department tournament wherein the 10 departments within the VJTI campus compete across 18 sporting events. These sporting events including outdoor events such as athletics, cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, dodge-ball, throw-ball, rink football and tennis; as well as indoor events like table-tennis, badminton, swimming, chess and carrom.
In fact, this year the prestigious Enthusia College Cup will also be given away to the winners of these sports. Students from colleges all over the nation will participate in the competitions.
Enthusia’s marathon and cyclothon are some of the highlights of the event. Having repeatedly witnessed massive participation and support from crowds all over, these events have not just fostered the spirit of sportsmanship but also celebrated the importance of health and fitness. This year, the Enthusia Marathon is associated with Teach For India to raise awareness about education in India and to support them in their initiative.As for the Cyclothon,in association with Firefox and Bharat Cycle Co.,participants will be provided with the best cycles on offer to have a ride through Matunga and Dadar.Geared with these cycles, it is an Event not to miss out on!
The marathon will be held on 4th December, 2016 and the cyclothon on 11th December, 2016.

Enthusia also entails a day especially reserved for underprivileged children where students from many municipal schools are invited to participate in sporting events across various disciplines. Distribution of prizes and goodies along with hearty refreshments makes it a fun and memorable day for the children.
