In a world where people have become selfish enough to think only for themselves and no one else, we hardly come across incidents of selfless acts. While people are largely engaged in clicking the perfect profile pictures for their social media accounts, they have forgotten to take out time for other in their lives. They barely check on the lives of their family and friends.
As this problem of solitary becomes a common phenomenon among the people in the 21st century, there are many times when they become the victim of mental health issues like depression and other fatal thoughts like suicide.
Well, in a fast-paced city like Mumbai, people often become stranger to each other’s thoughts. One such stranger is an 18-year-old in Mumbai who would have become the victim of another suicidal incident if a vigilant man didn’t intervene.
In a surprising turn of events, a 43-year-old man named Syed Naseer Hussain became the savior of the 18-year-old girl who allegedly wanted to commit suicide. On September 18, 2018, Syed Naseer Hussain was heading home in the night after his work in Vashi, when he noticed a smartly-dressed young girl standing on the creek of the nearby bridge.
Hussain realized that she was getting ready to jump off the bridge as she had already climbed over its railing. As soon as he noticed this, he ran to grab the young girl before she could take the fatal dive.
After the Mumbai man saved her life, he comforted and counseled the girl to make her understand the importance of life. She told the Mumbai man that both her parents were at the hospital since her mother was severely ill. The class 12 student also told him that she hasn’t yet recovered from her recent heartbreak and that is why she wanted to commit suicide.
He asked her for her home address, she denied to give it to him initially. However, as soon as she told him her address, Hussain dropped her off to her home in Mankhurd. Since her parents were not home, Hussain asked the neighbors to keep an eye on her. But apparently, he still had this intuition that something can go wrong.
Therefore, just to double check, Hussain went to her home again, only to find that no one was opening the door. With the help of the neighbors, Hussain managed to break into the house and witnessed the girl hanging from the ceiling fan.
Thankfully, The Mumbai man reached on time and the girl was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital. After checking her, the doctor told that she was stable and recovering fine. Hussain told the media:
“I have had long conversations with her dad. She needs to be taken care of. I have told him he must support her to complete her education. She must grow into a confident woman who does not see unfaithfulness of a man as the end of the world”
The father of the 18-year-old girl said:
“Had he not been there, I would have lost my daughter. He saved her twice I can’t thank him enough”
There are only people like Syed Naseer Hussain who restores our faith in humanity. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
