Two days back, an article was published on Medium.com that accuses the founder of “The Viral Fever”, Arunabh Kumar, of sexual harassment. Since then, several women have come forward with similar allegations.
In the article, the person shared quite a few distasteful incidents with Arunabh,
One instance was the Ola deal. The Ola team was meeting him and we were taking notes. He walks out of the meeting with some excuse and calls me for some notes. I walk up. He says its time we do a quicky. I am stunned. And i told him i will go to the police. He says “Police to meri pocket me hai”.
Just when this article became viral, another girl, Reema Sengupta, shared her disturbing experience with him, which further stirred up the controversy.
Reema Sengupta wrote,
When we met on the day of the shoot, I asked him if he had seen the links. To this he said – why don’t you come over to my place and we can watch them together. We can also watch a movie. Which movie do you want to watch? I politely evaded the question and continued briefing him about the shoot. As I talk, he finds some lame excuse to place his hand on my hand (which was on the table in his glass cabin). In the middle of the shoot, he touches my shoulder tattoo and tells me he finds it sexy.
Besides this, Arunabh’s batchmate from IIT-Kharagpur, spoke to “The Quint”, sharing another distasteful encounter,
When we met for coffee, Arunabh asked me, “Would you go to my place, and dance for me?” I was shocked. He said he would like to get naked & see me stripping & dancing for him.
As the allegations multiplied, TVF image was tarnished. In response, TVF made an official statement, calling these accusations “false”. They also added, “we will leave no stone unturned to find the author of the article”
This is what they said,
The accused Arunabh Kumar spoke to “Mumbai Mirror”, calling these allegations “fake”,
TVF had not hired anyone from Muzaffarpur in the last three years. TVF has asked Medium to ascertain the authenticity of the post. If the post is found to be fake, “it will be removed”. The “insinuations” on the post are “untrue”. He is extremely particular about his behaviour. I am a heterosexual, single man and when I find a woman sexy, I tell her she’s sexy… I will approach a woman, but never force myself,
While this controversy sees no end, Twitter is exploding with all types of reactions,

Aditi Mittal slammed TVF:
Silence from the comedy community is deafening.EVERYONE still”texting contacts”/”verifying facts” inspite of hearing stories abt it for yrs?

TVF doesn’t even talk about investigating the allegations. Their immediate response – shame the victim.
Talk about a safe environment.

Don’t be an idiot. I know several upstanding people who work at TVF. This is no time for schadenfreude. Play your /fic fantasies elsewhere https://t.co/KI64hS7yp7

Tanmay has a point:
Much to process after all that’s been read today. I hope there’s a fair investigation that’s followed in the coming days to come.

For a company that specially champions and has a woman centric channel @Girliyapa it’s disheartening to see people question our culture
