We live in complicated times when terror attacks have become a part of the global environment. Authorities are busy fighting the war on terror to bring peace back into the world. But while everyone considers the larger impacts of terror acts, there are some who focus on the individual lives caught in the crossfire. An upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Mulk’ promises to shed light on these micro details.
The movie set to release on August 3, 2018, asks critical questions about religion and its patriotic implications in India. ‘Mulk’ brings forth many aspects of Indian polity and society in reference to its treatment of families of those associated with terror acts.
The movie’s storyline opens with a recent terror attack on the nation. The focus soon shifts to actor Prateik Babbar’s character- Shahid Mohammed, who is the suspect for the attack. ‘Mulk’ then traces the treatment of Shahid’s family once his character goes off the grid.
The trailer for the movie recently hit the internet and it has captured the audience’s attention. Check out ‘Mulk’ trailer here:
As evident from the movie trailer, actor Rishi Kapoor is playing the patriarch to Shahid’s family. The family also evidently makes constant appeals to bring Babbar’s character back on track. But they soon find themselves in the crossfire.
And as the movie progresses we see the family struggle through a court case to prove their innocence. Actor Ashutosh Rana is playing the prosecuting lawyer who believes in Rishi Kapoor and family’s involvement in the attack. And the talented Tapsee Pannu plays the advocate to the Muslim family and helps them in their fight to get their honor back.
The star cast of the movie also includes actors Rajat Kapoor, Neena Gupta, Prachee Shah Pandya, and Manoj Pahwa etc. Anubhav Sinha has directed the movie and has vastly shot it in Lucknow and Benaras. From impactful dialogues deliveries to heart touching emotions, the movie is sure to make a mark. We definitely are eager to watch the movie, are you?
