Rajkumar Hirani’s most-awaited project ‘Sanju’ has finally hit the screens and is already doing quite a good business. Reviews are pouring in from throughout the country and people are calling Ranbir Kapoor star of the year! But is the movie worth all the attention it is getting? Let us check out!
In the film, a baffled Sanjay Dutt decided to narrate his life’s journey to Anushka Sharma who plays a biographer. This happens to be a direct and much visible attempt by Sanjay Dutt, to do some makeover to his image which otherwise is rotten to the nth degree!
Diya Mirza plays the role of Maanyata Dutt and tries to do justice to her small part in the film, however, fails miserably. As the controversial actor tries to reveal the bitter truths about his life, one remains hooked throughout and tries to make sense of how success, glamour and drugs can lead to insanity. Paresh Rawal’s character of Sunil Dutt gives us an idea of how much Dutt must have suffered to have witnessed his son falling from a height. Manisha Koirala who played Nargis, is strong in her character, and nailed her role.

The film is a roller-coaster ride of emotions and Rajkumar Hirani has taken care of every minute details which could have become difficult or too unacceptable to the audience. The heavy duty drama, intense dialogue delivery by Ranbir makes it all the more appealing to go and watch the film.
It also vividly throws light on how Sanjay Dutt struggled his way in Bollywood and after reaching the brim of his career dipped into his own darkness, much stronger to have ruined him completely.
There are moments of immense grit and even a pinch of melodrama and as the movie unfolds Ranbir marvelous performance keeps us glued t our seats to the end. In fact, keeping the journey and the character establishment aside, Rabir’s performance is one of his best!
