PM Modi Gives Two Options To The Youth Of Kashmir And Sends A Message To Pakistan

In the state for the inauguration of India’s longest road tunnel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today warned the youth of Kashmir to choose one of two options available to them.

“Kashmiri youths can choose between only two paths: tourism and terrorism,” thundered Modi.

The Prime Minister was addressing a gathering in Udhampur. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Minister Mehbooba Mufti was also present.

“For 40 years terrorism gave you nothing but bloodshed, deaths and destruction. Had you chosen tourism, the benefits today would have been phenomenal,” said Modi.

He also praised the people of Kashmir for building the tunnel. “On one side, some misguided youth in Kashmir are throwing stones. On the other side, Kashmiris are giving their blood and sweat cutting rocks for the state’s development,” Modi said.

Separatists had called for a shutdown in the Valley to oppose the Prime Minister’s visit.

Such frequent shutdowns, always called by the Separatists, are designed to hamper the economic progress of the state and result in revenue losses.

On the other hand, Separatists incite and pay the youth of Kashmir to throw stones at security force personnel while their own children live comfortably away from the tensions in the Valley.

It is because of these reasons that the Prime Minister’s call to Kashmiri youths assumes significance.

The Prime Minister also sent across a message to Pakistan and a ray of hope for the people living in Pak-occupied Kashmir.

He said that by developing J&K, those living in PoK will be able to see the meaning of development. “We will prove how they (Pakistan) destroyed your future,” he said.

Before his address, the Prime Minister had inaugurated Chenani-Nashri Tunnel, the country’s longest road tunnel linking Kashmir Valley with Jammu.

The PM said that the tunnel is a “giant leap (of development)” for the state.
