Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a three-day visit to Israel and became the first Indian Prime Minister to do so, making his visit all the more special. During his visit to Israel, PM Modi met Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanyahu, and President Reuven Rivlin.
The leaders aim to strengthen the relationship between the two countries on a number of fronts including technology and defense. The Indian PM and his Israeli counterpart also discussed ways to counter terrorism and share intelligence information to be able to do the same. Delegation-level talks were held to strengthen ties on agriculture, security, defense, water, energy, culture and other fronts.
On the last day of Modi’s visit, he visited the Ogla beach with Benjamin Netanyahu to witness the demonstration of sea water purification technology. The technology was invented by Israel and is being used at the desalination unit at Ogla beach. Apart from watching and observing the desalination, the two leaders also spent a long time at the beach talking.
Ever since that meeting on Ogla beach, there have been speculations about what they discussed. But no one knew precisely what the leaders spoke to each other about.
Now, putting all those speculations to rest, we are going to reveal what the two Prime Ministers talked about. Modi discussed the issue of water shortage in the country and told Netanyahu that he needs more and clean water.
This was revealed when Netanyahu had a close meeting with Czech Republic Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo. During the meeting, Netanyahu spoke about Modi discussing the need for more clean water for India among other things he said and everything he spoke accidentally got broadcast by an open microphone to journalists in a room nearby.
Here is the video of all that Netanyahu said at his meeting with the four world leaders:
