Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s picture appears thrice on a Google Image search of ‘Top 10 Criminals’. And this is enough to make Twitterati go berserk.
As of now, #Top10Criminals is trending worldwide on Twitter and is on the top in India. The picture search returns photos of Osama Bin Laden, Dawood Ibrahim, Hafiz Saeed, Sanjay Dutt, American serial killer Ariel Castro among others.
The first picture of Modi in the search result is from an article on racism in text books of schools in Gujarat published by UK’s ‘The Telegraph’. The other two images redirect to articles uploaded on the website of leading dailies.
But the “serious insult” has again brought Modi baiters and Modi supporters at each other’s throats.

The matter is of such seriousness to Modi bhakts that they are now using ‘RapistRahul’ as a counter.

Modi is not alone though. The search also returns images of Arvind Kejriwal, Sonakshi Sinha, and Akshay Kumar, too.
Google has issued an apology to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for any “misunderstanding or confusion”.
According to Time, the search giant said: “These results trouble us and are not reflective of the opinions of Google. Sometimes, the way images are described on the internet can yield surprising results to specific queries.”
The company also stated that the erroneous search query results were due to ‘The Telegraph’ publishing an image of Modi with erroneous metadata.
