With a very early eye on the 2019 General Elections, the Modi Government has launched a web portal especially designed to highlight the Centre’s achievements and map the progress of its plans and policies.
The website, transformingindia.mygov.in, will post daily updates informing citizens on how the government is working to maintain the wave of ‘achhe din’ in the country.
No, the website is not for “chest-thumping” of the government alone; it will also allow people to give their feedback on government performance.
Currently, the various ministries of the government share their respective achievements through their respective official Facebook and Twitter handles.
But this portal is a single platform for everything about the government’s successes.
How will the site present the info? With infographics, pictures, and videos.
The portal will serve as the third most important tool for the Modi government in its aim of remaining connected to the masses through online platforms.
And there is a fourth coming – PMO Mobile App.
Just before the 2004 General Election, the NDA government under Atal Bihari Vajpayee had launched the ‘India Shining’ campaign. That campaign failed largely because it was too late. Perhaps this why the Modi government is not taking any chances.
