There is nothing like wearing the stars on your shoulder and donning the olive greens. There is a saying, ‘Two stars on the shoulders are better than a million in the sky’. Lt. Vivek has proved it to be right. He chose to say goodbye to the glitz and the glamour of fashion industry and decided to serve his motherland.
The newly commissioned officer has just graduated from the Officers’ Training Academy in Chennai and will soon be joining his unit stationed along the Indian borders. Vivek had a brief career as a model before joining OTA. He did a number of photo shoots and ‘still-modelling’ for various brands.
From a MODEL to an ARMY OFFICER I always loved to get photographed but Sometimes it becomes hard to differentiate between your passion and proffession. Your hobbies and your likeness.. I was always inclined towards glamour ,parties , fitness, photoshoots ,love for guitar and modelling offers all this but what attracted me the most was .. OlIVEGREEN that too with twinkling stars. Although wearing OG was always my Goal from the very first day i appeared for NDA exam but things kept on lingering.. I was conference out 3 times for AFCAT .. .. Might be interviewer saw my love for olive green in my eyes and thats why he rejected me every time (on lighter note ).. But fortunately with all my efforts i cleared combined defence services exam.. and ssb to join Officers training academy. Managing studies ,your so called lifestyle and preparing for cds was itself proved a herculian task for me .. I was not doing good in studies nor i was able to crack cds .. Atlast things fall in grid and i fall where i wanted to. I still remember Academy days when my seniors use to make me do ramp walk whereever they used to see me.. Even one of the senior gave me standing orders to start rampwalk as soon as he ll see me. Sometimes i feel like i have done everything and got what i wanted. I still get calls to do some shoots and get together but trust me guys wearing olivegreen is itself the happiest feeling .. And the work you do have immense pleasure to bumpup your chest and walk . This time not as a model but as a ROLEMODEL. 🙂 THE BEST PROFFESSION. #indianarmy ⚔️🇮🇳❤️
Narrating his journey from the ramp to the hallways of OTA, Vivek said:
“Although wearing OG was always my goal from the very first day I appeared for NDA exam but things kept on lingering. I was conference out 3 times for AFCAT. He also mentioned that he was not a bright student either at school and college. However, things started to fall into place soon and he decided to exchange the designer wears with the olive greens. Vivek revealed that while in academy, his seniors used to make him do ramp walks and those moments helped him in building a great rapport with his seniors.
