In yet another horrific case that brings to light how unsafe Delhi has become for women, two minor girls were brutally gang-raped and tortured in two separate incidents in the national capital.

In the first case, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two men who had abducted her from outside her house in west Delhi’s Nangloi area.

The girl, who was abducted on Friday morning, was later found by neighbours lying unconscious at a nearby park, bleeding profusely.

She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where doctors found that she had been brutally raped and had suffered severe damage to her private parts.

They also disclosed that the young girl had bites marks all over her body.

The girl’s mother has claimed that she was abducted while she was watching a Ramleela performance near her house earlier that day.

While the investigation on the case is on, no arrests have been made so far.

The second incident took place in Delhi’s Anand Vihar area, where  a five-year-old was allegedly raped by three men when she was alone at home.

The accused is said to be her neighbour, who had lured the young girl to his house and then raped her along with his friends.

The rape came to light when another neighbour saw her coming out of the accused’s house soaked in blood.

They immediately informed the police and the three accused have been arrested.

The incidents were brought to light by Swati Maliwal, the chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women, who visited the girl on Saturday morning and sent out a series of tweets condemning the act:

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed anguish over the horrific incidents of minors’ rape here and questioned what steps Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi’s Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung were taking to curb it.

Kejriwal was on his way to meet the families of the two victims.

He tweeted:
