We all are aware of Milind Soman’s inspiring fitness journey. His story has shown a healthy route for life to many. He was a rage in 1990’s and people used to ogle at his muscular body and good looks. He still is one of the handsome men we have in India as his age hasn’t changed his sexiness much. He is way fitter than most of us even in his 50’s that depicts his self-control and health consciousness.
While interacting with the media recently, Milind opened up about his self-control, why he likes to stay away from social media and nudity.
While stating the reason for his minimal availability on social media, he said
Honestly, if it wasn’t for the causes I promote, I wouldn’t be on social media at all. I got onto it only because of the Pinkathon in 2012. Being its ambassador, I wanted to promote running among women. I don’t even have an e-mail ID. I am shy and introverted, but it may not seem so because of the kind of life (career) I have had.
Talking about nudity, Milind revealed that he will not turn down any offers that demand him to expose his body, he said,
In 1987, there was no concept of looks or designers. Nobody ever told me that I was good-looking until I started modelling. My parents were proud of my sporting career, but they never spoke about my looks. I have lived with these tags (sexiest man, etc) for over 30 years. Now, I feel people just say it because they have to (laughs!). Some of you may also remember that I had done a nude photoshoot for an ad, which turned controversial. It was a beautiful picture and there was no discomfort at all. Even my mother liked it. Will I do nude photoshoots even today? Why not?
And just like all of us, Milind also struggled with self-control,
I have tried everything — smoking, alcohol, and drugs, but I knew where to stop. Now, I can’t even stand passive smoking. However, I drink beer occasionally. For instance, during one of the races, I was craving to have a beer, so I had one.
