Michael Phelps Didn’t Race A Real Shark On TV And Viewers Are Losing It Completely

The world’s most celebrated Olympian got into a race against his fastest opponent in the water and invited sarcasm and wrath on Twitter. People seem to be absolutely pissed off with Michael Phelps who raced against a computer-simulated Great White shark.

The entire shoot was aired on Discovery Channel to initiate the annual Shark Week. In the open-water 100-meter race, the swimmer was just behind by two seconds. The race was filmed off Mossel Bay and televised on Sunday night.

Phelps completed the race in almost 38.1 seconds and the computer-simulated shark completed the distance in 36.1 seconds. ‘Phelps vs. Shark: Great Gold vs. Great White’ depicted the entire telecast in a way as if Phelps competed against an actual shark. Viewers of the show took to Twitter to share their views and mocked the program.
