It is true that Kashmir is ravaged with grief and tension, with innumerable terror units springing from the forever violence-struck zone. However, does that in any way loot the intrinsic natural beauty of the place? The red and golden Chinar trees bordering the majestic Mughal gardens, the glistening Dal Lake with colorful shikaras floating by, the imposing mountains with snow-laden peaks and the forever smiling people eager to make you feel at home – all make Kashmir a wondrous place; its something straight out of postcards.
The Mughal emperor Humayun once said, “if there is heaven on earth, it is here, it is here, it is here.” And to be honest, any person who has been to Kashmir even once in their lifetime will not be able to brush off this centuries old statement. So, when Mehbooba Mufti, Jammu & Kashmir’s first woman chief minister, took to her official Twitter account for the very first time to post a video describing the beauty of her motherland, we could not stop marveling at the majestic beauty of Kashmir. The video brings out the natural beauty of the place in the most vivid manner. It also talks about the innocent commoners, who derive happiness from little gifts of life.
The video was released on Saturday. Over the night, it had received more than 100 retweets and 191 likes on Twitter. Mehbooba Mufti, who joined Twitter just recently, has more than 25,000 followers on Twitter though she is yet to follow anyone.
