‘Dangal’, the most awaited movie of Aamir Khan is now out in the theatres.
It is based on true story of the Commonwealth Games champion Geeta Phogat, who won a Gold in 55 kgs Freestyle Wrestling at Commonwealth Games, making her the first Indian woman wrestler to do so.
She was also the first Indian female wrestler to qualify for the Olympics.
Geeta and her younger sister Babita have been creating history in wrestling under the able guidance of their father Mahavir Singh Phogat.
Dangal is the story of a former wrestler (played by Aamir Khan), who fulfills his wish to win a gold for his motherland by training his daughters (played by Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra).
Here is the story of the reel-life Geeta Phogat, Fatima Sana Shaikh.
A graduate of St. Xavier’s School, Mumbai and Mithibai College, Fatima forayed into the glamour business at an early stage.
She made her Bollywood debut in 1997 with ‘Chachi 420’ in which she played Kamal Haasan’s daughter.
Later on, she was seen in the 1998 Sunil Shetty movie ‘Bade Dilwala’, SRK’s ‘One 2 Ka 4’, as Zoya in ‘Tahaan’ in 2008, as Sana in ‘Bittoo Boss’ in 2012 and most recently in ‘Akaash Vani’ in 2013.
Besides being a good actor, she is a fabulous dancer as well. Check out her moves with co-star Sanya Malhotra who plays her younger sister in the movie ‘Dangal’.
And another one, just for fun.
Fatima is surely multi-talented. In addition to all her talents, she is a photographer as well!
Here is another one from her Bhutan trip.
And here’s a true artistic impression.
But, that’s not all! She is talented at sketching and drawing as well. Check this out.
The warrior with her wolf.
And painting with perfect symmetry.
Perhaps this is why Fatima (and Sana, too) has been taken in as intern by Aamir Khan for a year.
Mr. Perfectionist is supposedly so excited to have Fatima and Sana as interns that he has now made it a yearly activity to take in interns and polish them to be perfect just like him.
Who says talent doesn’t pay?!
