Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has time and again falsely accused India of supporting terrorism. Recently, at his maiden speech at the UN General Assembly on Thursday, he again accused India of spreading terrorism in Kashmir and urged the UN to appoint a special envoy in the terror-stricken area. It appears that he has totally forgotten or disregarded the fact that Pakistan has itself been promoting terrorism for over three decades now and has served as a safe haven for terrorists like Osama Bin Laden, Dawood Ibrahim, Mullah Mohammed Omar, Hafeez Saeed, Maulana Masood Azhar and Syed Salahuddin to name a few. India has long been bothered by the rising terrorism created, spread and supported by Pakistan.
At the 72nd UN General Assembly session, India’s First Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India to the UN, Eenam Gambhir, on behalf of the country, gave a befitting reply to Pakistan Prime Minister’s speech. Her strong response terming Pakistan as ‘terroristan’ grabbed eyeballs across the world. India Today quotes her, in her speech at the UN, saying,
“In its short history, Pakistan has become a geography synonymous with terror. The quest for a land of pure has actually produced ‘the land of pure terror’. Pakistan is now Terroristan. Its current state can be gauged from the fact that Hafiz Mohammed Saeed, a leader of the United nations designated terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba, is now sought to be legitimized as a leader of a political party.”
For all that she has said about Pakistan and the backing of terrorist activities, she deserves to be known and praised by the entire nation.

It is not the first time when Gambhir gave a befitting reply to Pakistan. Something similar happened last year in September as well. When former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hailed Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani as a “martyr”, Gambhir responded by calling Sharif’s speech a “long tirade” and Pakistan a “terror state”. Elucidating Nawaz Sharif’s speech, Eenam Gambhir had said:
“The land of Taxila, one of the greatest learning centers of ancient times, is now host to the Ivy League of terrorism. It attracts aspirants and apprentices from all over the world. The effect of its toxic curriculum are felt across the globe. It is ironical therefore that we have seen today the preaching of human rights and ostensible support for self-determination by a country which has established itself as the global epicenter of terrorism.”
