Two Bollywood movies ‘Veere Di Wedding‘ and ‘Lust Stories‘ became more popular in media because of their respective masturbation scenes, than anything else. The first one to take this bold plunge was Swara Bhaskar of Anaarkali of Aarah fame in ‘Veere Di Wedding’. Then came actress Kiara Advani and Neha Dhupia who both pleasured themselves in Netflix short film ‘Lust Stories’.

While ‘Veere Di Wedding’ released on June 1, ‘Lust Stories’ released on June 15 and both grabbed huge attention for their masturbation scenes and complex relationships.

One of the reasons for the controversy behind these masturbation scenes was the whole characterisation. In ‘Veere Di Wedding’, Swara Bhaskar is seen sexually pleasuring herself with a vibrator while her husband looks on!

A similar scene was witnessed in ‘Lust Stories’, in which Kiara Advani also uses a sex tool to satisfy herself. In this short clip, Kiara is seen doing that with a mobile’s vibrator and that too, in front of her on-screen husband, Vicky Kaushal.

Both masturbation scenes in these two films were severely slammed on social media, but yet, some people associated it with new Indian women empowerment.

Both actresses used sex toys to masturbate themselves. Both movies released in June, and the sale of sex toys for women in India plummeted by a huge margin for sex toy companies. International Business Times (India) has suggested that these masturbation scenes resulted in this hike.

IB Times collected this available data from adult store IMBesharam, com whose brand ambassador is Sunny Leone. Their stats confirm that sale in sex toys for female buyers rose by 44 percent in June!

It’s to be noted here that the sale of sex toys for female buyers from January to May was of Rs 1,78,99,775. In the month of June, that figure reached to Rs 1,18,99,346 in June.

Interestingly, the top Indian cities who recorded sex toys hike were Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune and New Delhi.
