The newly Crowned Miss World Manushi Chhillar recently launched her ‘Feminine Hygiene Awareness’ tour as a part of her ‘Project Shakti.’ The tour will cover several Indian cities and the continents of other Miss World participants.
Talking about this, Manushi said:
“Let’s not only educate, but also provide a sustainable model for good menstrual management”
As a part of her campaign, Manushi introduced biodegradable sanitary pads. She shared some of the pics on her Instagram in which she is seen making sanitary pads herself. Her efforts were praised by Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu.

In his meeting with Manushi, the Vice President said that her efforts are providing a solution to the major problem of menstrual hygiene, that is faced by many women all across India and the world. He said:
“The eco-friendly and affordable high-quality sanitary pads highlight frugal innovation and the much desired holistic approach to development. I am glad to note that employment creation and restoring the dignity of women are commendable spinoffs of this enterprise. This initiative and the campaign is a combination of strengths of Beauty with Purpose and Freedom from Shame.”
The VP said that Manushi is both beautiful and hardworking, and this makes her strong enough to work for the betterment of women. “Beauty and duty makes one mighty”, he said.
Manushi won the title when she was only 19!
Manushi is the first women from Haryana to win the title. We surely are impressed with her efforts and wish her all the best in her journey!
