Remember when Arvind Kejriwal’s character played by one of the actors in TVF’s episodic ‘Barely Speaking With Arnub’, mesmerized us all with his humor packed performance. Even Kejriwal was surprised to have seen the comic turning exactly what he himself could have never imagined. But this time Kejri’s avatar is going to be a part of the big silver screen.
According to reports, actor Manoj Bajpayee’s character in his latest film ‘Sarkaar 3’, is inspired by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. Manoj is popularly known for doing unconventional and out of the box roles. His critically acclaimed performance in ‘Aligarh’ has got him huge appraise.
Here is what Manoj said about his character in the film, “It’s just the look. We wanted to have the look of Kejriwal and that’s about it. The character is completely different; he is a fiery young politician whose stance is completely opposite to that of Sarkar.”
He also said something about film’s director Ram Gopal Verma with whom he got associated after 14 years post cult classic ‘Satya’ –
“My equation with him (Varma) is still of a newcomer. I still maintain that. I don’t ask for a script (hard-copy), just listen to the script and trust him as I have always been doing. No questions asked, no ifs and buts. It’s all about what he wants from me in terms of performance.”
Truly, no doubt Manoj has nailed whatever role has been given to him so far. The depth to which he understands his role and creates an aura on screen is what differentiates him from the rest of them.
