It seems that Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, an epic biographical film which is based on the life of freedom fighter Rani Laksmibai of Jhansi, is in big trouble. Well, the film has been making news for all the wrong reasons. First, it was Sonu Sood who walked out from the movie and now it is said that Swati Semwal might follow in his footsteps, as the producer has asked her to reshoot her scenes.
However, as if all of this was not enough, it is reportedly said that there’s a new controversy that’s just added to its list of woes. We wonder what is so wrong with this movie.
The latest development that has been added to the list of woes of Manikarnika is that the business head of the production house, Zee Studios, Mr. Sujay Kutty, is said to have been sacked from the company over an increase of the film’s budget.
It is said that the budget of the movie has suddenly increased from Rs 70 Crore to Rs 100 Crore and the increasing budget has caused the company to take the extreme step against Mr. Kutty. Well, it is important to note here that Mr. Kutty had given the green signal previously for the film to go on floors.
It is said that the extra Rs 30 Crore is for the reshoot of several scenes in the movie which Kangana Ranaut would be directing. While the re-shoot was originally said to be for 10 days, it is said that now the film will have multiple changes.
However, what is even sadder to learn is that due to the additional budget burden of the movie, it is reportedly said that there will be many more heads to roll, citing cost-cutting.
Meanwhile, considering all the walkouts, reshoots and employee firing for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, we wonder if the movie will hit the theatres on the scheduled date. Well, let’s hope for the best!
