The recent ball-tampering controversy has created a huge uproar in the cricketing world. Everyone was disappointed to see Smith, Warner and Bancroft involve in this incident. The cricketers had gone against the 2.3.5 Cricket Code of Conduct due to which an official report had been filed against them. Taking action against them, Cricket Australia has suspended Smith and Warner for 12 months and Bancroft for 9 months.
Due this, Steve Smith, former captain of Australian cricket team held a press conference on March 29 facing the media for the first time after he was banned. In his address to the media, he got really emotional and literally broke into tears. Smith accepted that he committed a “serious error of judgement” and said that he now understands “the consequences”.
However, neither their punishment nor Smith saying all of that and a lot more at the press conference stop trolls against him and his fellow cricketers. The three have been shamed and trolled on social media savagely. And some of these tweets have grabbed public attention for being witty as well as funny.
One of these is the latest promotion of Manforce condoms on twitter. Taking a dig at the whole incident of tampering of cricket balls by Cameron Bancroft, Steven Smith, and David Warner, Manforce came up with a funny message on its Twitter page. Take a look at it below:
