Minister for Women & Child Development Maneka Gandhi invited some unexpected backlash after she addressed the transgender as the ‘other ones’ during the discussion on school textbooks in the Lok Sabha recently. During her speech, she nervously giggled through the words ‘his, or her, or.. the – other ones..” symbolizing the LGBTQ community while speaking on the Anti-Trafficking Bill in the assembly.

Apparently, a video of Maneka Gandhi’s speech went viral over the internet and she had to face the wrath of the LGBTQ community for her derogatory words. Incidentally, this was not the only part that will make you furious. The clip showing her speech about sex-workers shows other MPs in the background laughing and smiling at the distasteful comment of Maneka Gandhi.
