In what is seen as a unique method to publicise his message, a man from Maharashtra has put up over 300 banners and hoardings with ‘I am Sorry’ message to make up with his girlfriend after a tiff with her. The bizarre act took place in a plush locality of Pimpri Chinchwad, near Pune. However, the apparently desperate act of the man has riled the local police.
According to police, Nilesh Khedekar, a 25-year-old local businessman, wanted to apologize and make up with his girlfriend after a quarrel and came up with the idea.
On August 17, residents of Pimple Saudagar woke up to see several posters, carrying most probably the name of the girl and “I am sorry” message with a heart symbol beside it in red, across the streets.
However, the police started the investigations soon after they were alerted about the hoardings by some residents. And according to reports, the police managed to zero in one of Khedekar’s friends who helped him get the flex hoardings printed. Through him, the police were able to trace Khedekar who was the brain behind the act.
According to a police official, the man put up the posters on the route, since the girl was coming from Mumbai and likely to take this route.
“The girl was coming on Friday to the area from Mumbai. Under the cover of darkness in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, over 300 hoardings were put up on the route which the girl was likely to take,” the official said.
Meanwhile, it is reportedly said that the act is likely to get Khedekar in trouble with the police approaching the Pimpri Chinchwad civic body to initiate action as per rules dealing with illegal hoardings and defacement of public property. However, we wonder if his girlfriend will forgive him and come back to him.
