With a variety of films to his credit, Akshay Kumar seems to have re-invented himself as an actor who is not just pushing boundaries but also consistently delivering hits. In his last release, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ he fought against open defecation and now with his upcoming release Pad Man, he is all set to talk about female hygiene and health.

The dynamic couple of Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna have always advocated women empowerment by creating awareness on issues that are taboo. Twinkle, producer of the movie, was recently invited to speak about the issue at the Oxford University Union, the world’s most prestigious debating society. Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai was also present in the Union and she met the producers of film and Akshay’s wife, Twinkle Khanna. Being a social activist working for the rights of women, Malala was intrigued by the message conveyed in the film and therefore she openly supported the film and said:
“I’m really excited to see the film Pad Man because the message behind the film is truly inspiring.”

Malala also posed for a photo with Twinkle and the team of the movie. In the photo, Malala and the entire team of the movie were seen holding sanitary pads in their hands.

Unsurprisingly, the photo offended Pakistani citizens and they started to troll Malala for supporting and promoting an Indian Movie.
#Malala ( @Malala ) you have done nothing for Pakistan. If you are really loyal to your country then come to Pakistan and promote our values ,films and education. There is also big universities in our Pakistan. Be brave and face us.

PadMan is slated for release on February 9. The movie’s starcast includes Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. The movie is a biopic of businessman and activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who provided cost-effective sanitary pads for the women living in rural area.
