But after several movies, which can be best depicted as a flurry of successes at the Box Office, the beautiful actress somehow disappeared from the limelight.

It is only recently that some of her photographs started taking rounds on the social media, which led people start speculating about her probable comeback.

But why had this actress disappeared in the first place? Talking to Indiatimes, the charming lady brought to everyone’s attention a harsh reality that was also pinpointed at by numerous other senior actresses before her. According to her, it is the dearth of good roles written for senior actresses in the male-driven Indian Hindi film industry that led her stay away from the limelight for so long.

Adding that she would prefer to do nothing than investing her time and energy on mediocre roles, she highlighted the need of good character-driven roles for senior female actors.

She also talked at lengths about her divorce with husband Bobby Mukherji. She said that she would prefer to formalize their divorce only when new love comes seeking her way.

She has a daughter named Ariana from her marriage with Mukherjee. Speaking about her role as a single working mother, she said:

I was a single mother and had to earn money. With a child, it was difficult to take up films, as it would have consumed a lot of time. I started judging a few television shows, making appearances at functions or cutting ribbons because it was convenient for me. It also gave me quick and good money. Now, when I look back, I feel those assignments ruined me as an actress.

It is speculated that Mahima will be seen on the silverscreen once again. And knowing her credibility as an actress, we are pretty sure she will slay it!
