There is no doubt that retired Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardena was one of the finest cricketers to have ever played the game.
Jayawardena not only made a name for himself as a dependable batsman but also earned praises for his captaincy skills.
His stats of 11814 runs in Test matches, 12650 runs in One Day Internationals and 1493 runs in T20 Internationals are testimony to his mastery with the willow.
At the same time, Jayawardena is respected by his peers, seniors and juniors for his calm temperament. You can say Jayawardene is a cousin of Rahul Dravid when it comes to being cool on the ground or outside.
But there are some dolts in the world who try to take advantage of the composure of such fine gentlemen.
One of them is, perhaps, this Twitter user who tried to mock Jayawardena’s first name in a smart manner.

‘Mahela’ rhymes with the Hindi word ‘Mahila’ meaning woman. There are memes and jokes that poke fun at Jayawardena’s first name, but the cricketer has always ignored them.
This time, however, Jayawardena was not happy. With all politeness, he slammed the Twitter user:
You should know the difference of Mahela and Mahila? 😳 https://t.co/bw6SFCK3ih

Jayawardena’s takedown of the troll was appreciated by other users.
@MahelaJay woah man, you have better knowledge of Hindi than half the population of India.
