Known as Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood, these days, Aamir Khan is busy shooting for ‘Thugs of Hindostan’. Meanwhile, his next project, ‘Mahabharata’ is also very much in talks. Media reports suggest that his Rs 1000 crore ambitious project will be co-produced by India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani. It is being speculated that ‘Mahabharata’ will be Aamir’s highest budgeted and best of all the films he has made so far.
It is interesting to note that Mukesh Ambani is a shareholder in media company Viacom18. Apart from that, he also invests in projects of Eros Entertainment and Ekta Kapoor’s production house Balaji. It is being speculated that Ambani will co-produce ‘Mahabharata’ under a new production house. There are a few other details about the film that you would be interested in knowing. So here you go:
1. The project will be made as a series of 5 films
It is held that the film will be made at par with Hollywood projects like ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’. The entire project will be made as a series of 5 films.
2. It will be directed by not one but many directors
According to a report by Mid-day, Aamir Khan will entrust the responsibility of films’ direction to many directors. First film of the series will be directed by Advait Chandan who made his debut into direction with Aamir Khan’s ‘Secret Superstar’. Also, he himself will direct one of these films and one will be directed by a debutante director.
3. Aamir Khan’s role in the film
Apart from producing and directing the film, Aamir will also act in his ambitious project. However, what role he will be playing has not been revealed until now as the film is still in its pre-production stage. It is being speculated that he will play the role of either Krishna or Karan.
4. Imran Khan to make a comeback with this film
As per media reports, Aamir Khan’s nephew Imran Khan will also mark his comeback with this film. However, his role in the film has not been revealed yet. It will be an important film for Imran’s acting career since he hasn’t been offered any film after his ‘Katti Batti’ turned out to be a flop in 2015.
5. Aamir Khan to focus only on ‘Mahabharata’ for next 10 years
If a report by Amarujala is to be believed, Aamir wants to focus only on ‘Mahabharata’ for the next 10 years. In fact, he has also said no to the biopic of legendary astronaut Rakesh Sharma. On the other hand, head of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani also has very high hopes with this film.
