Life is a precious gift but a few fails to understand this and take it for granted, one of them was Arjun Bharadwaj. Arjun, a 24 year-old engineering student of a reputed college committed suicide by jumping off the 19th floor of Bandra’s Taj Hotel.
Before committing suicide, he went live on Facebook and called it a tutorial video on ‘how to commit suicide?’. He discussed the steps to follow before committing, drank alcohol and smoked a cigarette during the video.
He also posted a picture of the view from his hotel room and captioned it as ‘the view to die for’.
At 6:30 in the morning. Arjun broke the glass window of his room and jumped off the 19th floor of the hotel. The Police has found nine suicide notes from his room in which he has stated that he was depressed and no one should be held responsible for his suicide. He also thanked his parents in the note and apologized for taking this drastic step. The incident came to light when a security guard saw Bharadwaj lying in a pool of blood on the hotel premises. He was rushed to Leelavati Hospital but was declared brought dead.
After the investigation, the police found that Bharadwaj has been staying as paying guest in Andheri (west) for the last four years. When asked about the reason behind the suicide, the police said,
It seems he was under depression because he repeatedly failed in his third year engineering exams.
Soon after the incident, the Mumbai police posted a tweet for the youth and assured them that the police is always there to help:
