The hacker group “Legion” who in the past few weeks have claimed responsibility for many Twitter and other hacks, recently gave a series of secret interviews to The Washington Post and The Economic Times (ET).

In those interviews, the hackers, not only revealed that they have no political agenda but also revealed that they have a huge e-mail dump with over who has over 50,000 corporate clients.

Further, in another interview with the ET, they have not only revealed that they plan to target more Indian ‘celebrities’ but also said that the Indian banking system is “deeply flawed” and there is no way it can move towards a ‘cashless economy’ with such a flawed system.

‘Legion’ also revealed that the banking system has already been hacked several times.

“Let me tell you…the banking system of India is deeply flawed and has been hacked several times. We don’t believe in a cashless economy at all, you need cash, you need cash, that’s how things are, sorry mate.”

Though he also gave out the names of the banks that hackers have easy access to, ET refused to reveal these, most likely fearing panic among people.

Though the “Legion” hacker who spoke to ET, refrained from naming their next target, he revealed that they currently have a huge ‘dump’ of accounting data which they might later release.

“That’s always a surprise. We don’t know ourselves. We are going through a certain dump of accounting data.”

In an expletive-laced chat, the hacker said people who use unsecured email service need to get off the internet as it’s a “dangerous place”.

“Get the f*** off the internet if you don’t know how to use it. This is a dangerous place where retards gets owned.”

With regards to choosing the name “Legion”, which many believe has a ‘Biblical’ reason behind it, the hacker said it was a “random” choice and that he is “Not a fan of that book (Bible)”.

He also said that the group has been ‘hackers’ for more than a decade and in the coming days will hack more people and reveal more data.

“Legion” in the past few weeks have claimed the responsibility of hacking the Indian National Congress Twitter account, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter and email accounts, liquor baron Vijay Mallya Twitter account and journalists Barkha Dutt and Ravish Kumar’s Twitter and email accounts.

Since the hack both Ravish and Barkha have criticised the hackers and said they have nothing to hide. They have also questioned Indian banking system and its security.

Though it’s easy to contact them, it’s not easy to track them as they operate on a shielded browser called the ‘The Onion Router’ (TOR) which maintains their anonymity unlike other browsers such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
