Indonesian goalkeeper, Choirul Huda, died after an unfortunate collision during the match between Persela Lamongan and Semen Padang.
In the 45th minute, the goalkeeper had left his line to clear the ball, and he then collided with his teammate, Ramon Rodrigues and Padang forward Marcel Sacramento. The next moment, Huda was clutching his chest in pain and was immediately taken to the hospital.
The reports say that when he reached the hospital, he was unconscious but was still breathing. However, the doctors could not save him. According to the doctors, he had suffered a heart attack.
Persela’s coach, Aji Santoso, confirmed this devastating news,
All of the players finished the game and went to the hospital, where it was announced that Choirul Huda had died. The loss of Choirul Huda has hit us all hard. We did not have time to a see a doctor, only to see his body.

Huda had spent his entire playing career with Persela. He made his debut in 1999 and since then, he had made 503 appearances for the club. He spent nearly 18 years with the team.
