This Last Letter Of A Kargil Soldier Will Help You Understand The Courageous Heart Of A Martyr

Captain Vijayant Thapar was an officer of the Indian Army and belonged to the infantry regiment – Rajputana Rifles. He was posthumously awarded India’s third highest military honor, the Vir Chakra, for his acts of bravery during the Kargil War.

He died on duty while leading an attack of the Rajputana Rifles regiment in the Battle of Tololing on 29 June 1999, at the age of 22.

And shortly before the attack, he wrote this emotional letter to his family:

This letter shows the true values of an Indian soldier. He has motivated a whole generation of the Indian army and was just 22 years old when he embraced a martyr’s death.
