When it comes to pictures based social media platforms, Snapchat is the closest competitor of Instagram. Ever since it was launched, it has gained quick and steady popularity among social media users, particularly youngsters.
One of the most viewed accounts on Snapchat is that of Kylie Jenner. And it is quite understandable as the Hollywood actress has millions of fans across the world. This also implies that millions of people follow her and go by what she thinks is good or bad. But her influence did not turn out quite well for Snapchat.
Incidentally, the beauty inadvertently caused a huge loss of about $1.3 billion to Snapchat only with a single tweet. On February 22, Kylie Jenner tweeted that she does not open Snapchat anymore. Take a look at her tweet below:
sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me… ugh this is so sad.

Jenner’s opinion for Snapchat backfired on the social media app, having an instant effect on its investors. At the close of trading on February 22, Snapchat’s stock had fallen by 8 percent, closing 6 percent down on Wall Street. This meant an estimated loss of somewhere between $1.3 billion (INR equivalent of which is Rs 843.70 lakh) and $1.6 billion (INR equivalent of which is Rs 1038.40 lakh) in market value.
Fans of Hollywood model and actress were also quick to respond to her tweet. Take a look at some of the comments on Jenner’s tweet below:

Ever since Jenner’s tweet gained popularity, the Snapchat shares have been sliding. Also, there had been reports regarding complaints by users after the app had redesigned in November, however, Evan Spiegel had rejected these claims saying that users just needed time to get used to it.
But all of this did not stop Kylie Jenner’s tweet from going viral and media house speculating that the shares went down because of Kylie. And this made the actress come up with another tweet saying that Snapchat will always be her first love. Take a look at her tweet below:
still love you tho snap … my first love
