India is doing really great in the ODI series against Australia. Some claimed that India won the first of the 5-match series against Austalia due to rains, but Team India showed its preparation at Edens Garden in Kolkata in the second match. Winning the second ODI as well, Team India is leading the series and we have high hopes that the team will make us all proud by winning the series.
In the second ODI, young Indian bowler Kuldeep Yadav left his fans spellbound by bagging a hat-trick, the third Indian to do so in ODIs.
However, it was his statement that made it to the headlines. Kuldeep spoke about veteran Australian opener David Warner.
In a confident tone, Kuldeep said that he can take Warner’s wicket anytime. The 22-year-old has been performing really well and has even dismissed Warner on a couple of occasions.
Here’s what Kuldeep said about dismissing Warner:
“I guess he (Warner) takes pressure while batting against me, and feels I can get him out anytime. It’s good that there’s no pressure on me and I enjoy bowling to him. I always feel to get him out and set my plans accordingly. I will try to get him out more.”
His words went viral and created a buzz among the cricket fans. Now, according to reports, David Warner has responded to Kuldeep Yadav’s statement.
Appreciating the young bowler, Warner not only congratulated Kuldeep for the hat-trick but also hoped that he will not let this confidence reach his head.
Comparing Kuldeep with himself, Warner said:
“I like Kuldeep’s confidence. Credit to him for the way he bowled (in Kolkata). But the pressure is on him to perform, not me. You have played two Test matches and nine ODIs – when you are young, you have that confidence. I remember I had that kind of confidence when I was young and probably said things I would not now.”
The veteran Australian cricketer added:
“He has been doing well and he has confidence that is what he brings to the table. But when he speaks like that, he is bringing the pressure on himself.”
Isn’t this so sweet of David Warner that he took Kuldeep’s remark sportingly and gave him a million dollar advice in return? Do share your views about Warner’s response in the comments section below!
