Pakistani media has created baseless propaganda over Kulbhushan Jadhav, a former Indian Navy official, who is on a death row in Pakistan. Jadhav was granted the permission by Pakistani officials to meet his mother and wife on December 25.
As expected, the country started disseminating all sorts of wrong information over the meeting. In the Pakistani media, reports related to Kulbhushan Jadhav’s alleged confession regarding his involvement with Indian Intelligence and terrorist activities in front of his mother Avanti and wife Chetna, were published. India has strongly condemned this attitude of Islamabad.
Pakistani newspaper ‘Tribune’ reported on the alleged confession of Jadhav. It has been said that Jadhav, guilty in the case of espionage, has admitted to his involvement in terrorist activities before his family.
Stooping down to even lower levels, the online edition of the Pakistani newspaper even referred the Indian media.
The report further suggests that Jadhav’s family was not expecting such a reaction and were taken aback. The military court of Pakistan has convicted Jadhav for involvement in espionage and terrorism-related cases, announcing capital punishment for the former naval officer.
Sushma Swaraj also quoted in Parliament that after Jadhav’s mother and wife met him, the family’s car was deliberately delayed so they would be forced to hear abuses and allegations from the Pakistani media. The entire issue is now being widely discussed on Twitter.
This is how celebrities, politicians, and people from the media have been reacting to Jadhav’s meeting with his family and the propaganda created by the Pakistani Media.
Heartbreaking: First thing #KulbhushanJadhav asked after he saw his mother first time is 22 months was – ‘Baba kaise hain?’ because she was not wearing her Mangalsutra or Sindoor. #Pakistan lacks even an iota of humanity. Cowards hurt religious sentiments for sadistic pleasure. pic.twitter.com/b0NFhOo9Px

Pakistan humiliated Jadhav’s family. MEA statement on how they made them remove their mangal sutra, sindoor, bangles, and didn’t even return his wife’s shoes after the visit was over. https://t.co/XOBnslFd14

Imagine if #KulbhushanJadhav and his family were humiliated in this manner when Manmohan Singh was in power. He would have been ripped apart by our nationalist media.

Since @Sushmaswraj is ostensibly making a statement on Kulbhushan Jadhav can she confirm is it true that he was kidnapped from Iran by a notorious Pak Smuggler Haji Baloch&handed over to ISI in retaliation for Indian Navy blowing up Terror/smuggling boat on 31st December 2014??

Kulbhushan Jadhav’s first words were Baba kaise Hain…because mother did not have mangal sutra or bindi. Mother was almost in tears. EAM @SushmaSwaraj in Rajya Sabha

This close aide of @ArvindKejriwal, who calls himself a peace activist, is equating a kidnapped Kulbhushan Jadhav with Kasab, a terrorist.

It’s absolutely heart-breaking how Kulbhushan Jadhav’s family is being treated. Modi’s petty politics and total lack of statesmanship is costing us badly. Foreign ministry is being undermined, held hostage for Modi’s travel bucket list. https://t.co/VCRyMv7N5O

Foreign Minister SushmaSwaraj is speaking about #KulbhushanJadhav in Rajya Sabha. She will definitely tear into Pak over Jadhav.

Its disturbing how #KulbhushanJadhav mother & wife got humiliated in Pakistan and whats more appalling here is to see the silence of Human Rights activists, liberals, & people from my film fraternity.

By harassing two women, including #KulbhushanJadhav‘s elderly mother, and making his wife take off her Mangalsutra, Pak has shown exactly the kind of country it is

2 years ago on the same day we were discussing PM’s sudden Lahore lay over and if things could get better. Today we are discussing Kulbhushan Jadhav’s wife and mother not just mistreated but abused by Pakistanis. There lies the story of our outreach to Pakistan

Such a huge diplomatic failure to let Kulbhushan Jadhav’s family walk alone into Pakistan’s den and be humiliated. Sevak ji bhaashan de ke hi badla lenge phir se. #KadiNindaAdvertisement
