Kerala’s massive metro project is going to be rolled out soon, but Kochi Metro is already making waves for its initiatives that many are yet to even think about.
Two days ahead of its official launch the Kochi Metro authorities decided to thank those migrant workers who have worked for them day in and day out to make their metro dream into a reality.
In a gesture that will win anyone’s heart, the Kochi Metro on June 11 held a traditional banquet, known as ‘sadhya’, for all its migrant workers.
There are about 800 migrant workers who came from all across the country to help out in the massive Kochi Metro project.
Not only were all these workers given a massive banquet, but even the top KMRL officials including MD, Elias George IAS were part of the “Sadhya’ and sat along with the construction workers for this banquet.
To make the event merrier, Kochi Metro authorities even organised some cultural events for the workers where they could and sing and dance.
There was even a massive message board put up for them where the migrant workers can write down their names and messages for others to read.
