India is a place where people eat, sleep, and preach cricket. Yes, hockey is the national sport of India but Indians are more excited about cricket that any other sport. There is hardly any sport that is given as much importance as cricket in our nation and that discourages people from following their dreams.
We see gold and silver medalists doing small jobs for their living because they don’t get much recognition as compared to the Indian cricketers. Something similar is happening with an extremely talented Indian skater, Nishchay Luthra. Nishchay, who has already won 12 medals — including 9 gold medals — in National Championships, couldn’t afford his training in the USA and had to return to India.
To support this budding talent and help him represent India on an International platform, cricketer KL Rahul has come forward. KL Rahul has extended a helping hand toward Nishchay via Adidas’s campaign Fan the Fire.
Adidas, the world famous sports equipment, and merchandise giants have started this campaign to raise funds and help Nishchay. They want to aid the skater’s bid to participate in the 2018 Winter Olympics.
In order to create awareness about the campaign, KL Rahul has changed his Twitter name to Nishchay Luthra and has shared the details of the campaign with his fans. In fact, other cricketers like Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Unmukt Chand have shown their generosity and have supported the campaign by tweeting about it. People are praising KL Rahul’s gesture and with this, his respect in his fans’ eyes has increased.
Check out the tweets that the cricketers have posted to support Nishchay Luthra:
