A Russian lawmaker has said that North Korea is ready to launch another missile which is capable of hitting the US west coast.
The lawmaker, Morozov, who has just returned from Pyongyang, said that the North Koreans even gave mathematical calculations to prove that their missile can really hit the western coast.
“They are preparing for a new test of a longer-range missile. They even gave us mathematical calculations that they believe is the prove that their missile can hit the western coast of the United States,” Morozov said.
“In the near future, they are going to carry out, as far as we understand, yet another launch of a missile, but this time with a longer range,” the lawmaker said, adding that the general mood in Pyongyang is “rather belligerent.”
Earlier, the Russian embassy in North Korea has said that the Russian delegation was on an official visit to Pyongyang from October 2-6, where lawmakers discussed bilateral cooperation with the Russian ambassador to North Korea.
However, the United States has recently announced a new sanction on North Korea over its continuous nuclear program with president Trump announcing the new executive order that significantly expands their targets on Pyongyang.
President Trump announced the new sanction which targets individuals, companies, and financial institutions that finance and facilitate trade with North Korea. US Treasury Secretary has also announced that foreign financial institutions have to now choose to do business with either the United States or with North Korea, but not both.
The North Korean nuclear and missile test issue has aggravated in recent months as Pyongyang has held several rounds of missile launches and nuclear tests. The most recent one was conducted on September 15, when North Korea launched a ballistic missile, which flew over Japan before falling into the northern Pacific some 20 minutes after the launch.
