Arvind Kejriwal is not new to controversies. So, it was not really surprising when his tweet on Janmashtami and Independence Day made him the butt of ridicule on Twitter once again.

While the entire country was witnessing great programs organized by the various state governments and the central government on the occasion of Independence Day, special programs were organized in the National Capital Region as well. CM Arvind Kejriwal celebrated the event at Chhatrasal stadium in Delhi and announced that the government will formulate a detailed plan in the next ten days to prevent the growth of dengue and chikungunya.

Known to be extremely active on social media, Kejriwal greeted the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami and 71st Independence Day, as both the occasions clashed on a single day. In two tweets, the Chief Minister greeted the countrymen on the occasion of the Independence Day and prayed for the destruction of evil powers from the society on the occasion of Janmashtami.

However, instead of greeting him back or appreciating his effort to spread love among the countrymen in some way or the other, the Twitterati were fast to criticize him. Some people even went to the extent of comparing him with the mythological character of Kans.

Trolls were also fast in making memes of Kejriwal:

It may be true that he talked about Hinduism for the first time in years but were the trolls right in criticizing the CM for his seemingly harmless tweet?
