The situation in Kashmir is considered to be turbulent with a lot of stone pelting incidents and violent and bloody protests being reported from different parts of the Valley. In the midst of these turbulent times, the country’s security forces have to go through a lot to maintain peace and harmony in the troubled zone.
In April 2017, a video went viral on the social media in which a Kashmiri youth was tied to the bonnet of an army jeep and used as a ‘human shield’ in Srinagar. This video triggered a massive outrage on social media. There were many voices that questioned the way the Indian forces used the youth as a human shield.
Here is the video of the Kashmir youth named Farooq Ahmed Dar that went viral:

Evidently, a new video from the South of Kashmir has been getting viral on the social media in which a similar incident has been depicted. The video sent by a local from the Pulwama district shows a group of Kashmiri youth being used as human shield on the vehicles by the Indian forces. This incident has taken place during the on-going Cordon and Search Operation (CASO).
One can easily hear the local who made the video saying that the Indian forces have used Kashmiri youth to protect themselves from the stone pelting during the protests in the region. In the video, the group can be seen sitting in front of the Indian forces’ vehicles in order to stop the other people from throwing stones.
Take a look at the video released from Kashmir:

Here are some of the tweets regarding the issue:
Excellent move! This should deter stone pelters until they stop caring about who they hit…which might happen sooner than later….once their aaka from the other side of the border decides so.

This is a fantastic news for some!
Fantastic news! @JmuKmrPolice learn lessons from Major Leetul Gogoi, & use stone pelting psychopaths as human shields… completely demoralises these murderous mobs as can be heard from their complete frustration in the audio. My personal salute to @spvaid pic.twitter.com/xUaeBs8AGr

Let this be the standard operating procedure, if it saves blood-shed and loss of life on both sides. Using these stone-pelters as a shield, will take the wind out of the sails if overground supporters of terror. Why be apologetic about it @adgpi @HMOIndia @crpfindia
