It is not uncommon in India to hear people talking about the age gap between people, especially celebrities, who are dating each other or when they get engaged or married. It’s not long ago that people have discussed or written so much about the huge age gap between Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar, who tied the knot in April 2018 in Alibaug. Ankita is half of Milind’s age. Well, now people can’t stop talking about Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ age difference. Strange, isn’t it? After all, love is love and age is just a number when it comes to love, right?

It’s been a few days since Priyanka and Nick announced their engagement to the world and people can’t stop discussing it. However, it’s when their dating rumours started making the rounds that people have started talking about Priyanka being older and the age gap between them. And it’s just not stopping.

Recently, during an interview, Bollywood ace director Karan Johar was asked about Priyanka being older to Nick. Without any hesitation and taking the opportunity to lash out at people who give so much importance to such things, the filmmaker spoke at length about how it’s not important to see who’s older than who when it comes to relationships. He stated:
“Relationship should not be about it. I am very liberal and progressive among these things. I have never thought, ‘Oh, your man should be older than you.’ Why? Why should we say these things? If you find compatibility and you find a relationship of comfort, who cares who’s older than who.”
Not stopping there, Karan Johar went on to question as to who made such rules that the man should be older always in every case. Saying that it doesn’t make sense and that he doesn’t buy such things, the filmmaker stated:
“Who made these rules that the man should be older? Like sometimes I have heard members of my family say things like this. Sometimes, I feel that’s the saving grace of the relationship. Sometimes the maturity that a woman brings to the table, I think it can actually make sure that the relationship has a strong binding. So, I really don’t buy all these things, it doesn’t make sense to me.”
Well, what’s your view on Karan Johar’s statement on Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas age difference? Is it that something people really need to talk about?
