Bollywood’s ace director Karan Johar broke his tradition of casting biggies like SRK and Kajol, to cast fresh faces for his 2012 college romance drama Student Of The Year. His risk resulted in one of the most loved films and the entry of successful actors – Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. The gifted case celebrated 5 years of their debut with Karan on Diwali 2017, and even cut a ‘Student of the Year’ cake with a impromptu dance!

Fans got delighted when Karan announced a sequel to his 2012 superhit, to be directed by Punit Malhotra. In November 2017, Johar took fans by surprise with this Twitter announcement:

On April 11, he revealed the poster of the lead male actor Tiger Shroff, son of Jackie Shroff and ‘Baaghi 2′ actor. In the second instalment of this Dharma Productions franchise, Student Of The Year 2, Tiger’s spoilt-brat avatar with his rugged denim and chiselled abs look perfect for his part as a college student.

The film’s female leads too, were unveiled by the ace director at the same time. First it was Tara Sutaria, a 22-year-old classical singer and debutante.

And last, but not the least, he disclosed the third ‘student’ in his film – it was Chunky Pandey’s beautiful young daughter Ananya Pandey, who “joined the class of 2018 at Saint Teresa”.

So FINALLY, here’s the full and final star cast of the upcoming college drama:

While some people on social media can’t easily forget when Kangana Ranaut openly accused KJo of nepotism in his chat show Koffee With Karan or when he escalated nepotism by casting Sridevi’s daughter Jahnvi Kapoor for Dhadak, they have instantly got reminded of the N-word — with this latest announcement.

But Tweeple are unhappy with the star cast and visibly angry that the filmmaker only casts star kids than actual talents. This is what how they have reacted:
