Recently, Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi met a delegation comprising of Bollywood actors, producers and CEOs of companies to discuss various issues. One big name from the film industry that met PM Modi was none other than ace filmmaker Karan Johar.
Are you too wondering why did KJo met PM Modi? Is Karan thinking of casting the prime minister in an upcoming Bollywood project? If so what would be the subject of such a movie?
Well, you don’t have to worry about answering these questions. It is because Karan along with a Bollywood delegation talked about the current situation of the film and entertainment industry.
As per reports, the discussion was about Bollywood’s contribution to India’s fiscal growth and exchequer. Based on this they made an appeal to the prime minister to work towards lower and more uniform GST rates for Bollywood as an industry. And it seems like things went well, as Karan Johar tweeted about how enlightening the meet was.
Here is Karan Johar tweeted about the meet:

This PM is all about the film industry only?
People should not jump to early conclusions:

Is Karan casting the PM in 2019?
He does not have the time to meet farmers but…
Movies are important for the Indian economy, it’s okay if PM invests a few hours in them:
It looks like a wax statue of PM Modi:
In all there were 18 men in the photo, and many asked why women actors and directors were kept away.
Well, that’s an intriguing mix of reactions. So do you think such meetings are going to do any good for the entertainment industry? Or for the general public as a whole?
