Talking about his childhood days, Karan expressed that he used to think that everyone in the industry is Punjabi. He told that his father used to speak in Punjabi with everyone and this used to make him think that people who are in the film industry are all Punjabis.
Recalling how Amitabh Bachchan was one of those who used to speak fluent Punjabi not being a Punjabi, Karan said:
“I thought everyone in the film industry was Punjabi because they all spoke in Punjabi. Down the fact that Mr Bachchan who’s not Punjabi spoke fluent Punjabi because it was like ‘When you are in Rome, Do as the Romans do’.”
Karan had shared a wrong fact about Big B and this made Amitabh correct him. He corrected him and said that his mother was a Sikh and this is why he speaks Punjabi fluently.
Here’s what Big B tweeted correcting Karan:
No Karan .. I speak Punjabi because my Mother was as Sikh ; that makes me a half Sikh and so I speak Punjabi .. !!!!
