It is said that ‘hard work is the road to success’ and it is completely true for India’s favourite comedian Kapil Sharma. The actor-comedian turned 37 on April 2 with hopes of having a long innings in the industry. The actor had his brief share of ups and downs in life. Coming from a regular middle class family of Amritsar, Sharma has made quite a mark for himself in the tinsel town.

Kapil Sharma’s father was a head police constable and mother was a housewife. He has a younger sister who got married couple of years back. Sharma has spent a major portion of his adult life performing in theaters and this is where his heart lies.

Tragedy struck him in 2004 when his father passed away of cancer. Following the death, his family family has to go through a lot of troubled times because of the financial crisis. But this did not dampen Sharma’s spirits who waited patiently for a breakthrough. As per a media report, Kapil also worked on a phone booth and picked up empty crates at a factory for some extra money.

Things changed for him in 2007 when he entered the show ‘Great Indian Challenge’ as a wild card entry. His perfect comic timing, raw jokes and association with India’s middle class made him an instant hit among the audiences and made him win the show. The prize money of Rs. 10 lakh was used by him for his sister’e marriage.

In 2013, Sony channel invited him to host his own show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’. The show also became an instant hit where he played the lead role. Slowly, many celebrities started appearing on the show to promote their movies and that added another feather in Kapil’s success cap. Kapil is making headlines for his comeback show Family Time With Kapil. When asked where he sees himself after five years, he said he will talking about his next venture.

Kapil also has two movies in his kitty and is working on few other projects. We wish Kapil Sharma a very happy birthday and best of luck for all his future endeavors.
