According to reports, Pratham went live on Facebook in which he was seen taking the pills.

Pratam was reportedly feeling humiliated by comments of a colleague on social media. He spoke about his humiliation during the live video and about the distress it had caused him.

Reports quote the Police saying that Pratham took just one pill. His life is not in danger, but the police slapped a case under IPC section 309 (for attempted suicide).

It should be noted that suicide has now been decriminalized by the government but the Bill is yet to get the President’s approval, which means it is still not a law.

On the other hand, the man Pratham accused of causing humiliation counter-accused the Kannada reality TV star for alleged man-handling.

Just a couple of days ago, a 24-year-old engineering student of a reputed college committed suicide by jumping off the 19th floor of Bandra’s Taj Hotel. He, too, went live on Facebook documenting his act.
