Kangana Ranaut is known for two things – her amazing acting and unfiltered comments. Always wrapped in controversies, this actress still gathered a huge fan following because of her raw acting skills. Her recent movie, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, joined the Rs 100-crore club soon after its release. Besides her acting, people were also praising her directorial work. Coming back to her bold persona, she never shies away from speaking out what she feels about her colleagues. Previously, she had taken a dig at Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar. Now, it’s Ranbir Kapoor on the line!
It was not only Ranbir though but she took jibs at the entire film industry. She blamed the B-townies about their behavior of being apolitical and not stating their opinions.
The actress took a dig at Ranbir because of what he said in an old interview. During that time, he was asked ‘You obviously don’t make any political statements’. To this, the Sanju star replied:
‘I don’t make any political statements because I don’t follow politics. Politics makes no difference in my life. I’m not at the brunt of anything. I live a luxurious life. I don’t have water, or housing problems. I don’t have any issues, so who am I to comment on politics?’
Kangana Ranaut took this reference to state:
‘Ham politics ke bare mei kyu bolein? Hamne kya kiya? Hamne kuch nahi kiya. Aise nahi chalta, you have to be responsible. Ranbir Kapoor was telling somebody ki mere ghar mei toh bijli pani ata hai, mai kyun politics se? You know, so how, ye desh ne, ap desh ki wajah se aapka ghar hai. Ye deshvasiyon ka hi paisa hai jisse aap Mercedes mein baithte hain. How can you talk like that?
(We cannot say that we work in films and will not talk about politics. You have to be responsible. Ranbir Kapoor was telling somebody that why should he discuss politics when he gets water and electricity at his home. This is your country, this is where you live and it is the money of our countrymen that enables you to sit in a Mercedes.).’
This is not all, she further stated that she is not someone who refuses to discuss politics even if it affects her career:
‘Ham toh filmo mei kam karne wale hain? Ham kaise politics ki bat karein? This is irresponsible.Kya mai waisi insan hu? Nahi. Isse mera career bhi chala jaye toh chala jaye. Mere ghar mei bijli pani ajaye toh iska matlab ye nahi ki mujhe kisi ki padi nahi hui.
(It is irresponsible not to discuss politics just because we work in films. I am not such a person. Even if it ends my career, I will speak about issues).’
She was speaking at a media conference when she poured her thoughts out. Her co-star Ankita Lokhande, from the film Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, was standing beside her and she couldn’t stop portraying an awkward smile the entire time. Watch the video:
The netizens showered mixed reactions. While some praised her, the others stated that she does it all for seeking attention. Let’s start with the ones praising the actress:
