The horror of Unnao and Kathua rape cases are still very fresh in our memory. According to a media report, 95 women are raped each day in India, yet there are celebrities who think it’s perfectly fine to joke and laugh about this crude act.

Kangana Ranaut is certainly known for her outspoken nature. Many times, she stood up against such incidents that she considered as wrong. Incidentally, she is the one who protested and raised her voice when Salman Khan made a joke on rape.

Salman made an insensitive comment when asked about his wrestling training for the film ‘Sultan’ saying that after walking out each day from the shoot he felt like a ‘raped woman.’ Here’s what he said:

This is what Kangana said on the issue:

However, a video has resurfaced that highlights her hypocrisy.  In the video ‘Padmaavat’ actor Jim Sarbh is seen saying a joke. As the joke hits the punchline, Kangana bursts out in laughter. Here’s the deplorable joke:

“I’d rather be raped by 12 prostitutes than touch alcohol and the Punjabi says ‘Me too, I didn’t know that was an option’.”

If we are correct then the joke actually is implying that being raped is preferable than drinking. Did that sink in? Feeling disgusted? We are too!

Here’s how the Tweeple reacted:

Making jokes on rape trivializes the crime. It’s time that the ‘icons’ of Bollywood handles this sensitive issue with more responsibility.
