The two unidentified assailants, who came on a scooter, shot the player multiple times after which he collapsed on the ground. The two men immediately fled the scene.

“He was returning home when two people came on a two-wheeler and shot him just a few yards away from the house. By the time we reached the spot, he was already dead,” said Sukhvinder’s father Chander Singh.

A case of murder has been registered by Police against the two unidentified men and a hunt has been launched to nab the killers.

Three months ago, another Kabaddi player Deepak Kumar was shot by two men on motorcycle in Rohtak. He lay on the road unattended for half an hour before his brother arrived. He died during the preliminary treatment.
