Former Supreme Court judge Justice Markandey Katju on May 19 took to Facebook and called India’s move to approach ICJ (The International Court of Justice) over the Kulbhushan Jadhav case “a mistake”.

Stating that  “Pakistan must be very happy” about the fact, Katju added that it would now raise all kinds of issues, particularly Kashmir related issues, in international fora.

His statement though was immediately slammed by users who even expressed their shock over the fact that he is a retired Supreme Court Judge.

In a comment that got over a thousand likes, the user asked Katju under which provision would Pakistan bring Kashmir as an issue in ICJ when they themselves are not following security Council resolution.

Meanwhile, there were other users who questioned his stand on Kashmir and asked if its problem should not be solved.

Justice Katju was reacting to ICJ’s ruling earlier this week, where they ruled in India’s favor and stayed Pakistan military court’s ruling that ordered the execution of Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav.
