John Abraham initially started out modeling for designers, advertisements, and other companies. His modeling career led to his career in acting and he made his debut with the 2003 movie ‘Jism‘. Even though John had his share of lows in Bollywood, currently he is one of the most well-established actors here. He has been a part of many commercial and critically successful films.

In 2012, the actor put on the producer’s hat and opened a production company by the name John Abraham (JA) Entertainment.

And the first movie John Abraham produced under his banner was ‘Vicky Donor’. This movie was both a commercial and a critical success. In fact, this movie also earned John the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. ‘Vicky Donor’ marked the debut of singer Ayushmaan Khurana’s acting in Bollywood.

But did you know that Ayushmaan wasn’t the director’s first choice for the titular character? Well then who was it? The first choice for the character was none other than John Abraham himself.

Recently while promoting his movie ‘Satymave Jayate‘, John revealed the following to news agency IANS:

“Initially, I was offered the role. I told Shoojit that I would be the wrong choice for it and Ayushmann was meant for the role. We are really happy that his talent impressed the audience and he has become the star that he is today… He is my brother, I love him.”

Even though John loved the script, he decided to launch Ayushmaan instead because he believes in promoting new talent. This is what Abraham reportedly said about his desire to encourage new talent:

“Of course, when we cast him, he was a face from TV but we can see talent from anywhere. Honestly, I want to encourage more and more new talent. Coming from a non-film background, I know exactly how tough it is to get the opportunity.”

We completely agree with John and wish him all the best for his future projects.
